´╗┐Peterbilt 379 Fuse Panel Diagram 1997 Wiring - The Idea of the Neocortex The concept of how the brain functions is increasingly coming to greater focus because we know more about the neuron and its role in brain functioning. How do I explain the idea of the neocortex for you in the event that you don't understand what it is? Allow me to clarify by referring to a diagram which illustrates the action of the retina in detail. The basic region that contains neurons is the surface of the brain. It functions as the base on which most functions of the cortex operate. While the cortex is mostly accountable for fundamental functions, the brain's output signal is much more complex and variable. A significant use of the neocortex is tothink. It requires input from several sources, some input from beyond the cortex, but all entered must be interpreted into a structured processing output. The neuron or nerve cell is the basic output of the neocortex. The next level over the neuron is that the middle part of the cortex, which covers and coordinates the input from every area of the cortex. The cortex naturally can be considered as the place in the brain where thinking happens. While thinking occurs, the cortex translates these inputs into a structured output so as to execute the task of thinking. Thus, the output of this cortex is a mental representation of the input that was processed. The rendering of the input is then passed on part of the cortex known as the subcortical level. Subcortical degree includes the biggest portion of the brain's functional cortex. Its output is the aware and higher level ideas that we have. The cortex where thinking happens is also accountable for the subconscious level of consciousness. The unconscious is the final amount of thoughts. Our own ideas are essentially unconscious. The cortex where thinking occurs is also accountable for the psychological level of consciousness. If we are facing a situation that we find troubling, the cortex often sends out a warning sign that tells us to do something to change the state of the present emotional state. Next, we might have to apply more effort in order to deal with the present situation. Hence, the cortex that is below it play a very important role in psychological processes. It's an incredible concept when you think about it.
